- I mercy will and judgment sing,
- O Lord God unto thee:
-
- 2 And wisely do in perfect way,
- until thou come to me.
-
- 3 And in the midst of my house walk,
- of pureness of my spirit:
- And I no kind of wicked thing
- will set before my sight.
-
- 4 I hate their works that fall away,
- it shall not cleave to me,
- From me shall part the forward heart,
- none evil will I see.
-
- 5 Him will I ‘stroy that slandereth
- his neighbor privily:
- The lofty heart I cannot bear,
- nor him that looketh high.
-
- 6 Mine eyes shall be on them, within
- the laud, that faithful be:
- In perfect way who walketh shall
- be servant unto me.
-
- 7 I will no guiltfull person have
- within my voice to dwell:
- And in my presence he shall not
- remain that lies doth tell.
-
- 8 Betimes will I destroy even all
- the wicked of the land:
- That I might from God’s city cut
- the wicked workers hand.
