- The Lord as king aloft doth reign,
- in glory goodly dight:
- And he to show his strength and mane
- hath girt himself with might.
-
- 2 The Lord likewise the earth hath made,
- and shaped it so sure:
- No might can move or make it fade,
- at stay it doth endure.
-
- 3 Ere that the world was made or wrought,
- thy seat was set before:
- Beyond all time that can be thought,
- thou hast been evermore.
-
- 4 The floods O Lord, the floods do rise,
- they roar and make a noise:
- The floods (I say) did enterprise,
- and lifted up their voice.
-
- 5 Yea, though the storm arise in sight,
- though seas do rage and swell:
- The Lord is strong and more of might,
- for he on high doth dwell.
-
- 6 And look what promise he doth make
- his household to defend,
- For just and true they shall it take
- all times without an end.
